Resources
The Molecular and Microbial Biotechnology Group (MMBG) is equipped with state of the art equipment for: Protein expression (incubators up to 24L, High Pressure homogeneizer); Protein Purification [2 low pressure chromatographers, 2 medium pressure chromatographers, 1 Tangential Filtration systems; High capacity centrifuges (6L maximum capacity; Ultracentrifuge)]; Protein Characterization (1 HPLC with DAD detector, Fluorimeter, Spectrophotometer); Plant growth (FitoClima PLH 12000 ‘walk-in’ growth chamber; Binder growth chamber; Horizontal Laminar flow hood);
Through a close collaboration with the R&D unit X-PROT by Biocant, the MMBG has also access to state of the art biophysical analysis technologies for characterization of proteins and protein-protein interaction: Capillary Electrophoresis, Capillary Differential Scanning Calorimeter, Isothermal Titration Calorimeter, High-Throughput Biolayer Interferometer.
