Avian Antibody Platform
The Structural Biotechnology laboratory is coordinating a technological platform for the production of antibodies in avian models. The lab is engaged in the development of an avian facility working under Directive 2010/63/EU on the protection of animals used for scientific purposes.
The activities of the platform take advantage of a unique animal model for antibody production, combined with the lab expertise in expression and purification of recombinant protein antigens.
The Structural Biotechnology laboratory welcomes collaborative proposals for the development of antibodies for research, diagnostics and therapeutic applications.

Technological Platform for the development of Egg-based Biopharmaceuticals
We have been combining the use of avian model hosts for antibody generation with structural and functional rationalization of potential microbial therapeutic targets and vaccine antigens. We implemented an avian antibody platform for the development of target-specific immunological libraries in Coturnix japonica model hosts.
